Before I became pregnant with my first child, I suffered from major depression and mood swings. After having him (2 1/2 years ago) I have not had any symptoms of depression or mood swings. Has this happened to anyone else? Can your hormones get "in-check" after becoming pregnant?
I had mild depression for years, and severe postpartum after my first son. Since the birth of my second I've had no symptoms. I think pregnancy screws so much with your body that anything is possible – I've also gotten over my seasonal allergies but developed food allergies.

Has anyone that suffered depression before being pregnant have no symptoms of it after?
What do ppl mean by “clinical depression” as opposed to “major depression”?
I just saw someone say “clinical depression” or “major depression,” in giving answer, which is what got me wondering if it’s supposed to be worse than major depression or less so.
I’m partly wondering because clinical depression isn’t in the psychiatric lexicon. It is a popular term.
It is the same thing, to make a diagnosis of major depression there must be a set of specific clinical symptoms hence the term.
It is very different from being sad or upset or miserable.
Treatment is different for each type of depression.
How does Holden in the novel The Catcher in the Rye relate to teen depression?
According to Wikipedia, Holden Caulfield symbolizes fear. A wealthy young man that is saddened by the "phoniness" that his elite world holds. He hides his true emotions from others which most likely depresses him even further inside. Here are the links for more analysis.
Does being depressed during pregnancy make you more likely to have postpartum depression?
Does being depressed during pregnancy make a woman more likely to experience postpartum depression?
Please provide medical links/knowledge or your direct experience, not what you think could happen.
Thanks

Can a person with asperger's syndrome also suffer from manic depression?
I am diagnosed with asperger's. However, I have also suffered for years with depression, sometimes it's reactive, other times it comes from nowhere. My mood swings are swift and extreme, I have periods of mania when I can't sit still or shut up talking and am generally excitable, but have other periods where all I feel is total despair for no reason and I would be quite happy to go to sleep and never wake up. Generally, I feel that I have no control over my thoughts, I am unable to relax from the moment I wake up, and feel constantly anxious. So, could I have manic depression as well? Or is it all part of asperger's?
It is always dangerous to make these diagnoses yourself…and even more damgerous to expect unqualified people on the internet to diagnose you from one short paragraph.

Have any patients who became completely cured by taking Homeo Medicine Arnica after a full cut Episiotomy?
Some websites Deny Arnica’s effectiveness of post surgical treatment.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/97580…
http://dermatology.jwatch.org/cgi/conten…
Even the Homeopathy websites which promote this product, warning that, “Homeopathic remedies are very dilute, and while the homeopathic remedy may be beneficial, the raw product may be harmful.”
http://abchomeopathy.com/r.php/Arn
Now I want to know, Is this Homeopathic medicine really effective for the treatment of Episiotomy? Have any side affect of it? Have any risk to increase the problem or create new problem instead of healing the problem?
I also want to know that, is Arnica only just a pain killer or antibiotic, or it is for completely healing and cure? Is it only for use to reduce pain after a surgical operation, or can use any time in order to help the entire healing process? Our patient already passed 8 weeks after a full cut Episiotomy and now have only slight pain sometimes when any movement or physical activity. So pain reduction is not major issue now. We only need to ensure complete and permanent healing. So I cannot assure if the Arnica would be applicable or not at this moment.
As we see contradictory information about this medicine in the web, so I need to know real experience or authentic data. How many Episiotomy patients get complete recovery by taking Arnica or such type of Homeo medicine?
You’ve posted in the wrong section. Had this been quantum physics, your answers might have been helpful.
The website that refers to your wife’s situation – or, perhaps for your purpose of research, is http://www.nationalcenterforhomeopathy.org. You’re looking for education, so it’s important to rely on a dependable resource.
Just as YA is full of Top Contributor medical skeptics who earned their badge not based on professional experience, but uneducated personal opinion negating homeopathy and other viable “energy” medicines – the web is full of individual opinions and experience.
Basically, whether on YA or on the web, you can find the answer you want.
For a person with these problems, being under the care of a certified, professional homeopath is necessary. This situation doesn’t qualify in the category of self-help acute care. The remedy is not homeopathy, it’s the knowledge and philosophy for understanding why a particular remedy should be given and not another. That’s the first step. The hardest part, requiring skill as a classical homeopath, is “case management” – the second and, if necessary, subsequent remedies.
You ask for real experience and authentic data. If you are unable to accept more than 25 years of my experience as a homeopath, I don’t know what more to offer. The woman needs to be under the care of a homeopath, based on qualifications set forth by the Council for Homeopathic Certification, the only profession-wide credentialing organization in N. America.
My practice is a family practice, and I’ve helped lots of moms recover.
Where can I get complete range of homeopathic medicines in Bangalore?
I need to buy some homeopathic / bio-chemic medicines but can't find a good shop in Bangalore. Most of the places require you to register with the doctor, pay a hefty fee and then get the medicine. I already have the prescription and just want to buy the medicine.
Hi,
There is one homeopathic shop in front of movieland theatre in Mejestic, they have all, i go there, but i am sorry i do not have the name of the shop.
It is on first floor.
what is the best way to deal with minor depression symptoms?
like my boy friend has been noticably sad for a while, and i try to talk to him and cheer him up, but lately not even my Greatest attemps will soften him up. i need help, with out going to any kind of doc, ( he tells me its not that bad, and wont go.) so anyone have a serious answer for me, i dont like seeing him like this.
btw: we are 17/18 yrs
please and thank you!
Stop talking and start doing.
Really. If you get outdoors and do stuff – take brisk walks, go to movies, head to a school game or other event and keep up the activity level, he won;t have time to sit aroudn feelign sorry for himself and getting all depressed.
Adn if there is some cause (other than seasonal depression), like worries abotu the future or problems with studies, work on them together; just dont; make it appear you are tryign to give him the third degree to find out. Instead be observant, talk a lot with him and above all listen and observe to see if you can pinpoint any cause other than it being fall, winter coming and another year of school starting.
