I think the key would be when you recognise that you need help, which you are doing.. get to a doc and tell him about this, and get some help going.
    Good luckReferences :

There are no hard-and-fast rules that govern when a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist will prescribe anti-depression medication. It’s a complete judgment call on their part, and most of them have the attitude that they’re going to prescribe them if they believe they will help and there’s little or no risk of harm from taking them. That’s why so many prescriptions are written. In your case, there’s a very good chance a psychiatrist or clinical psychologist would prescribe anti-depression meds in addition to therapy.

I took anti-depression medication after my first wife was killed in an auto accident. I talked to the doctors and had them wean me off the meds because I didn’t like the way they made me feel. But that’s just me. I know many people who have had symptoms very similar to the ones you described, and they felt much better after they started taking the anti-depression meds.

WARNING: Most anti-depressant meds take 2-3 weeks to really start working, so don’t give up if your doctor prescribes them and you don’t start feeling better right away. References :

If psychotherapy hasn’t worked they will usually prescribe anti-depressants. I’m thinking that with your symptoms they would get them to you sooner. The sooner you see the doctor the sooner you’ll start to feel better. References :
