Like many others, I can’t comprehend the affects of a depression on our familiar day to day routines. How will this affect the middle class disabled Americans that rely on Social Security and Long term disability income? Questions that really hit home with me.
The biggest Impact the depression had on people in the 1930's was that with a 25% unemployment rate and most families only having only a single earner many families were left with no income because there was no unemployment benefits. If your income is from SS you will do much better than the average person because you have a stable income, so would not be effected much. The government is very unlikely to cut off benefits for disabled people.
How would an economic depression change our lives?
