I am a vet tech and I have NEVER seen a cat fight abscess fix itself with out issues. Also NOT using antibiotics on cat fight abscesses or any type of infection (including your nose ) will cause KIDNEY DAMAGE and the cats that die young of kidney failure are those that have been fighting alot and do not get antibiotics as their owners think the body will heal its self.

If you really want to, make a thyme deconcoction, strong one, and add salt and echinacea (no more than a teaspoon) to it. If you want to, add some tea tree oil (the purest you can get) to it as well, just a few drops.
While it's hot, dip cottonwoll into it and apply it to the wound – keep it there as long as possible. When it cools do it again, repeat it until the source has cooled.
Wash it VERY well with warm water afterwards, you need to get rid of the tea tree oil so kitty doesn't ingest it.
If that doesn't work, nothing herbal will. Then you HAVE to go and see a vet.References :
