In my personal experience…I've had pregnancies that I wasn't depressed…and one's that I was….every time I have experienced Post-partum Depression. I don't know if it ups the risk…but I can say that I experience mild depression off & on even when I'm not pregnant…so that could be why I get PPD every time.
I also make sure that I tell my Dr & the nurses on the ward that I get it so that they are aware of it. I don't go nuts or want to kill my kids or husband…I just get so tired & sad…cry over every little thing and have major mood swings (like being real angry over something stupid)References :
