First of all you should go back to your mom and try to talk with her. If you really feel you can’t right now, then perhaps speak with your school counselor.
Yes, it seems as if you are a little depressed, but high school is stressful! So cut yourself some slack.
I don’t think people hate you. What you need to do is to find friends that like the same things you do. What about joining a club at school? Most high schools have all sorts of clubs.
You need lots of positive influences. I don’t know how old you are, but you could also try volunteering somewhere. It always lifts my spirits to help out others. There are so many organizations that, I’m sure, could use your help. Are there any nursing homes in your area? Sometimes you can simply go and visit with the elderly. Some of them have NO ONE that comes to visit them. Do you have an animal shelter (Humane Society) nearby? Do you like animals? You could volunteer there.
Try to think of your little “niche” and go from there. Keep being nice to others at school. I’m sure you just haven’t found the right group of friends yet.

Yes these are the symptoms of major depression, but this doesn’t mean you have full blwon depression, because of the short duration of symptoms, what you are having is an adjustment disorder. in other words, you are not coping well with the changes in your life. you need some support, but most importantly you need a good understanding of your situation, and to develop the inner strength to tolerate these changes and face difficulities, because life is not always smooth, part of the life in high school, and one of the main lessons you need to learn from this phase of your life is how to be tough, and how to tolerate this.

Well, there no doubt those symptoms you are describing are symptoms of depression. However, and this is important – it doesn’t mean you have a depression. In your question you’ve stated that you JUST started your school. What is just in this instance? Another words, for how long are you experiencing these symptoms? See, major depression is very durable condition. And I think it is premature in your case to make any major conclusion yet. Try to relax. Get some rest. Don’t panic. I think eventually things will improve.
