   A number of ways to do this.
   You could go into Social work or Psychology.
   Interestingly, these days a masters in social work (MSW) is the quickest way to be a therapist. You can counsel with an MSW and be licensed. You can't do that with a masters in psychology. (you'd need a doctorate in psych to be a psychologist)

   Here's one route:
   Get an undergrad BSW degree (Bachelors in Social Work)
   Apply to grad school as an "advanced standing" student for your MSW. (With a BSW degree, the masters in social work will only take you one year, not two!)

   Bingo! Five years out of high school, you can be a licensed Social Worker and work with teen depression and mental health.

   To work with stuff like teen depression & mental in general,
   you have to major in Psychology &/or Psychiatry.

   I'm going for the same thing as well.
   I'm currently a Psychology major myself & am working towards my Masters' degree in that field.

   Pharmacy is a good area for working with mental health – because it all leads to pharmatceuticals. Nobody goes to a pscyhologist for talk therapy like they did a hundred years ago.
